Proven Success Drives Expansion of ‘Upcycle Your Skills’ Across Surrey
Following the standout success of an employment training programme in Mid-Kent, SUEZ in collaboration with CXK is scaling up its Upcycle Your Skills initiative to deliver training in Surrey.
The programme has already made a tangible difference, helping young people across Mid-Kent build confidence, develop practical skills and take real steps toward employment, education and training. Its impact has been so strong that SUEZ have committed to supporting the programme, backing a model that is delivering results.
In Surrey, SUEZ are now working alongside the Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership to extend the programme’s reach, ensuring even more young people can access the support, opportunities and skills they need to progress into education, employment and training
Designed for young people not currently in education, employment or training (NEET) or at risk of falling into that category, the free five-week programme combines hands-on workshops, one-to-one coaching and direct employer engagement. Crucially, participants also gain the opportunity to interview for live vacancies with SUEZ, turning potential into real-world job prospects.
More than just a course, Upcycle Your Skills is changing lives by equipping young people with the confidence, motivation and career readiness to move forward into jobs.
Grace Leech, Partnership & Community Engagement Coordinator at SUEZ, said “We’ve seen incredible feedback from the Spring programme in Surrey—from growing confidence to real job opportunities, I’m delighted we will be delivering more courses in the new year.”
The continued backing from SUEZ underlines the programme’s success and the power of collaboration in tackling youth unemployment. By bringing together Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership, employability specialists and industry, the initiative is creating meaningful, lasting pathways into work.
