Four community recycling centres to start accepting non-recyclable black bag and bulky wastes

From Friday 2 April, a wider range of materials will be accepted at Bagshot, Cranleigh, Dorking and Warlingham community recycling centres (CRCs).

These sites will now accept non-recyclable black bag and bulky wastes in addition to a full range of recyclable wastes.

The reintroduction of these materials is aimed at relieving pressure on other CRCs in the county during the busy spring and summer months, particularly as all CRCs are operating at limited capacity due to being COVID secure.

It is important these sites are COVID secure for the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors to the sites. As a result of these measures, the number of people allowed on the site at any one time will be limited, and queues are to be expected at busier times.

In line with Government guidance, residents are asked to continue to ensure they only make essential journeys to visit our CRCs. If you do visit a site, we would ask that residents arrive with their material already separated to ensure that as much as possible can be recycled and to minimise the amount of time spent at the site.

Opening days and times will remain the same and all the details for this can be found on the council’s website.
