SUEZ and Surrey County Council launch 2024 fund donating over £17,000 to local charities

The Revive Community Fund, a joint venture of SUEZ recycling and recovery UK (SUEZ) and Surrey County Council (SCC), has officially launched for 2024. The purpose of the Fund is to help improve community life and support the people and environment of Surrey. Following on from the success of the Fund in 2023, which donated £10,624 to local organisations, it is now back again this year, with a substantial increase in the amount set to be awarded.

The Revive Community Fund is funded by the five Revive re-use shops operated across Surrey, selling pre-owned items for the home and garden and diverting more than 1,000 tonnes a year away from disposal.

Each year, 10% of the net profits are donated to support local charities in the county with over £68,000 raised since 2018. The remaining profit is reinvested into the local recycling service.

Winners from the 2023 funding round included Mayford Village Hall, The Lucy Rayner Foundation, Waverley Hoppa Community Transport, and Holme Farm.

In 2024, registered charities that are developing community, health and wellbeing and environmental projects in Surrey can apply for grants of any amount up to £3,000, with a total of £17,850 available.

All applicants will need to be formally constituted and must be not-for-profit organisations.

If not already registered on the ActionFunder platform, charities are required to sign up here. Charity projects that match the Revive Community Fund criteria will be shortlisted and then reviewed by representatives from SUEZ and Surrey County Council who will award the funds.

The window for applications is open for 6 weeks before closing on 19 April 2024.
