SUEZ Surrey team empowers teachers with waste reduction strategies at Schools EcoSummit

The SUEZ Surrey team recently participated in the county’s Schools EcoSummit, delivering interactive workshops designed to help teachers bring waste reduction into the classroom.

Over two days, Jack Barber, Partnership and Community Engagement Manager, and Grace Leech, Partnership and Community Engagement Coordinator, led four engaging sessions, equipping teachers with practical strategies to promote sustainability in schools.

With more than 40 teachers in attendance, the workshops sparked valuable discussions on reducing waste and fostering sustainable habits among students. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees expressing greater confidence in integrating these lessons into their curriculum.

Reflecting on the workshops, Grace said: “It was fantastic to engage with so many passionate educators at the Surrey EcoSummit. Teachers play a crucial role in shaping the next generation’s understanding of sustainability, and we’re proud to support them with practical ideas and resources to bring waste reduction into the classroom. The positive feedback from attendees highlights the importance of these discussions, and we look forward to continuing our work with schools to inspire lasting change.”

We are proud to support local educators and look forward to continuing these important conversations on sustainability.
