SUEZ Supports Crossroads Care
SUEZ donated over £3,000 as part of their annual Surrey Community Revive fund helping to support unpaid carers in the region.
Crossroads Care Surrey supports carers looking after children and adults with complex needs by providing respite care using trained support workers. This charity based in Leatherhead has been using the donation to provide 34 weeks of respite in the form of weekly 3.5-hour breaks for carers.
Gareth Swiane, Regional Manager said ‘We are proud to support Crossroads care; they look after those that often don’t get opportunity to look after themselves. SUEZ is a strong advocate for health and wellbeing and have our own employee network for carers to access and offer support. We realise the importance of the work they do and look forward to supporting them further in the future.
In Surrey alone over 150,000 people act as carers for loved ones with over half saying this has caused a decrease in their own health. In 2024 Crossroads supported 1,904 carers and 3,808 family members. Their support workers are trained to work with a range of complex needs including dementia, Parkinsons, MS, autism, brain injuries, and learning difficulties.
Christine Jacobs, Fundraising Manager said ‘We are absolutely delighted to receive this funding from the SUEZ Revive Community Fund. This support means we will be able to continue to provide weekly respite care breaks to unpaid carers across the county, ensuring carers are able to take a regular break to rest and recharge their batteries. Thank you!’
