Championing Sustainable Living at Dorking Community Event

SUEZ joined local organisations and community groups at the Goodwyns Community Support Day in Dorking, helping residents learn more about sustainable living, waste reduction and the services available across Surrey.

The event, organised by the Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership, brought together a range of organisations offering practical advice on topics including energy efficiency, money-saving initiatives, bike repairs and community wellbeing.

Grace Leech, SUEZ’s Partnership and Community Engagement Coordinator, spent the day speaking with residents about local recycling services and the benefits of Surrey’s network of Revive re-use shops.

Grace Leech from SUEZ said: “Community events like this are a great opportunity to connect with residents and share information about the services available in Surrey. We had some fantastic conversations throughout the day about reuse, recycling and how the Revive shops can help people save money while making more sustainable choices.”

The Revive shops, located at 5 Community Recycling Centres across Surrey (Earlswood, Leatherhead, Shepperton, Witley, and Woking), offer affordable pre-loved household and garden items at affordable prices while also helping to reduce waste by giving unwanted items a second life.

Hannah Woodcock, Partnership and Outreach Officer for Surrey County Council said “Events like Goodwyns Community Support Day demonstrate the value of bringing organisations together to support residents. By working in partnership, we can connect people with practical services and initiatives that help them live more sustainably and make the most of the resources available in their local area.”

By participating in community events such as the Goodwyns Community Support Day, SUEZ and Surrey County Council continue to support local residents, raise awareness around waste prevention and promote the environmental and financial benefits of reuse.
