SUEZ Makes Headway with Local Charity

Through its annual Revive Community Fund, delivered in partnership with Surrey County Council (SCC), SUEZ has awarded £3,000 to the Guildford‑based brain injury charity, Headway.

Headway Surrey is the primary provider of non-residential specialist rehabilitative support for brain injury survivors and their families in Surrey. They have been in operation for over 40 years and support 60 vulnerable and isolated brain injury survivors on a weekly basis.

The £3,000 funding will go towards the planning, facilitating, and follow-up activity for support sessions. These sessions can include reintegration work, counselling, respite care and more with the aim of improving understanding of brain injury, building independence and wellbeing, and facilitating return to work where possible. This funding comes from the revenue generated by the five Revive Reuse Shops across Surrey which divert items from landfill back into good use. Applications are open for funding annually and more information can be found here: https://app.actionfunder.org/fund/710/funded-projects

Maggee from Headway said “Thanks to the generous support from Revive Community Fund, Headway Surrey have been able to reach more brain injury survivors and provide vital services that truly make a difference. Their funding has helped us reduce isolation by connecting individuals with therapy, support groups, and community activities, giving people the opportunity to rebuild their confidence and regain independence. Partnerships like this transform lives and create lasting impact for those who need it most”

Gareth Swain, Regional Manager, said “At SUEZ, safety is our number one priority, however we recognise that accidents beyond anyone’s control can still occur. That’s why supporting Headway means so much to us — it’s a great way to help people with life-changing injuries rebuild their lives with expert, tailored support.”
