Eco Park update – bottom ash spillage, Wednesday 18 September 2024

A truck collecting bottom ash from the Eco Park’s gasification facility experienced an issue with its tailgate shortly after leaving the site around 5pm this evening, causing bottom ash to spill on to the road at the Charlton Lane / Upper Halliford bypass junction.

As soon as we were informed of the issue, we dispatched members of our site team to clear the spill, return the load to site and sweep the road clean.

The haulage company will be investigating the issue with its truck and will update SUEZ on any actions it is taking to prevent a similar issue occurring in future.

We’re sorry for the disruption to traffic in the local area and would like to thank Surrey Police for their help managing traffic during the clean-up operation.
