Surrey Charities Invited to Apply for Revive Community Fund Grants
Community and environmental charities across Surrey are being encouraged to apply for funding through the latest round of the SUEZ and Surrey County Council Revive Community Fund, with grants of up to £4,000 available to support projects that improve local communities, health and wellbeing, and the environment.
The fund is supported by the county’s network of five Revive re-use shops, located at the Earlswood, Leatherhead, Shepperton, Witley and Woking Community Recycling Centres.
The latest funding round will open on Monday 17 August and close on Sunday 21 September. Applications will be reviewed jointly by representatives from SUEZ and Surrey County Council, with successful applicants expected to be notified by 5 October.
The Revive Community Fund was established to ensure the benefits of reuse extend beyond waste reduction. Since 2018, more than £120,000 has been awarded to charities and community projects across Surrey. Funded through the sale of pre-loved items at Surrey’s Revive re-use shops, the initiative reinvests profits into local communities. The five Revive re-use shops across Surrey divert more than 1,000 tonnes of reusable items from disposal each year.
Previous funding rounds have supported a wide range of projects, from environmental improvements and community activities to initiatives that support residents’ health and wellbeing.
Gareth Swain, Regional Manager at SUEZ, said:”The Revive Community Fund is a fantastic example of how reuse can create lasting benefits for local communities. Every item donated to or purchased from a Revive shop helps generate funding that can be reinvested into projects making a real difference across Surrey. We encourage eligible organisations to apply and look forward to supporting another fantastic range of projects through this latest funding round.”
The fund is open to registered charities and other formally constituted not-for-profit organisations. Projects must demonstrate a clear benefit to communities or the environment within Surrey, regardless of where the organisation itself is based.
